New Jersey families are on the hook for billions of dollars in new infrastructure and resiliency projects to withstand worsening floods, storms and extreme heat.

Those costs show up through rising property taxes, insurance premiums and utility bills, not to mention what families pay out of pocket to repair flooded homes.

Fortunately, state lawmakers are looking to change that.
