At the DG Reading Club we take a fascinating long read from our archive and discuss it with the journalist who wrote it and sources who contributed to it.
This time we’re looking at this striking story about geo-engineering and the fight against climate change from issue 33.
Its author, Marcus Webb, will be talking with Gernot Wagner, co-author of Climate Shock: The Economic Consequences of a Hotter Planet, over Zoom on Tuesday 19th May from 6.30pm-7.30pm. We’ll find out how geo-engineering projects – including the industrial removal of carbon dioxide from the air and the spraying of aerosols in the stratosphere – could be our best hope of cooling the planet. We’ll also be hearing Gernot’s thoughts on the significance of the drop in emissions brought by the global reaction to Covid-19.
The event is free and open to all. Participants will be able to put their questions to the speakers.
